Holiday sickness at Barcelo Solymar Varadero Cuba
We have read reports on TripAdvisor suggesting that holiday makers staying at the Barcelo Solymar in Varadero, Cuba, during the month of November 2011 have suffered holiday illness consisting of severe symptoms of diarrhoea and sickness. 
This hotel is promoted by Thomas Cook and First Choice Holidays amongst others. The Barcelo Solymar is an all inclusive 3 star hotel with a beach-front location and is 35 minutes from Varadero Airport.
The hotel facilities include a main buffet restaurant and two a la carte restaurants. Holidaymakers have complained of a lack of food hygiene as well as food being repetitive and inedible which is thought to have caused symptoms of severe diarrhoea and sickness at this hotel.
