Reports of diarrhoea and sickness at Playa Pesquero Holguin Cuba

We have recently been contacted by holidaymakers staying at the Playa Pesquero Hotel in Holguin, Cuba, during the month of January 2012 who have suffered holiday illness with symptoms of severe cases of diarrhoea, sickness and stomach cramps. 
Holidaymakers have complained of lack of hygiene and state that they still do not know the cause of their illnesses. The hotel’s on-site doctor has apparently tested the food and water and claims that the results have come back clear.
On their return from Cuba some holidaymakers have sought treatment from their GP and have been prescribed antibiotic medication which would tend to suggest that a bacterial infection is suspected. They have also had tests carried out and the illness and cause of it are still not known.
This hotel is promoted by First Choice Holidays amongst others. The Playa Pesquero is an all inclusive 4 star hotel and enjoys a beach-front location.
