"Salmonella can cause serious illness and is most likely to occur when food hygiene standards are poor"

Salmonella confirmed at Hotel Tropicana Sea Beach Sharm El Sheikh Egypt

Amount Received: £4,000

Mr A Stewart of Stevenage travelled to Egypt in September 2010 and stayed at the Hotel Tropicana Sea Beach in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. Several days into the 2 week holiday Mr Stewart began to feel unwell and suffered severe stomach cramps and severe diarrhoea.

These serious symptoms continued throughout the remainder of the holiday and were still being experienced on return to the UK. Mr Stewart sought medical treatment and was diagnosed as having contracted a salmonella infection. Following lengthy negotiations with the tour operator, Thomson agreed to pay Mr Stewart the sum of £4,000 to compensate him for his pain and suffering, days of the holiday lost as a result of his illness and loss of enjoyment of his holiday.

Mr Stewart said “I am more than happy with the first class handling of my case by Farnworth Rose. I received fantastic service and was always kept up to date with the progress of the case. I am delighted with the amount of compensation Farnworth Rose obtained on my behalf.”
