A British pensioner has been hospitalised after suffering serious illness at the Fort Arabesque Hotel in Makadi Bay, Egypt.

The hotel guest was suffering from serious symptoms of Gastroenteritis, with symptoms of severe diarrhoea and stomach cramps.

The Fort Arabesque Hotel is promoted by Saga Holidays, and offers all inclusive packages to holidaymakers in the UK. Saga Holidays is now being urged to investigate the standards of food and hygiene at the hotel, which may be linked to the illness.

Other holidaymakers who have stayed at the Fort Arabesque Hotel in Egypt, have complained on internet review site, TripAdvisor, of: ´food being reheated day after day´, ´food being served cold´ and ´food being way below average´.The hotel guest who became ill with severe Gastroenteritis at the Fort Arabesque Hotel, lost one and a half stones in weight, and suffered ongoing symptoms of illness when he returned to the UK.
