"Seek advice about claiming compensation if you have been ill at a hotel in Egypt"
Holiday illness reported at Holiday Village Red Sea/Coral Sea Holiday Village Egypt
SEPTEMBER 2010
We have received reports of illness by holidaymakers who stayed at the Holiday Village Red Sea, also known as the Coral Sea Holiday Village in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, during September, 2010.

One holidaymaker returning from the resort was confirmed as having Cryptosporidium, causing symptoms of diarrhoea and sickness, and his two children, aged four and five were still suffering from diarrhoea 12 days after returning to the UK. Many other guests had to be treated by intravenous drip to replace lost fluids.
Previous complaints were also made by holidaymakers who stayed at the Holiday Village Red Sea, Sharm El Sheikh in 2007, 2008 and 2009. More recent complaints would suggest that the hotel still has a problem maintaining good standards of food and hygiene.
Another guest at the hotel complained of suffering diarrhoea, headaches, sickness and a loss of appetite after becoming ill at the resort, along with other members of her group.
Food was said to be served undercooked, including meat and poultry, and also served cold or lukewarm, which is thought to have caused illness among guests.
