Salmonella confirmed at Sunrise Royal Makadi Bay Resort Egypt
FEBRUARY 2011
Farnworth Rose have been contacted by a family who suffered illness at the Sunrise Royal Makadi Bay Hotel in February, 2011. When the family returned to the UK, their young son was confirmed as having contracted Salmonella food poisoning.

Further reports posted on internet review site, TripAdvisor indicate that at least one other holidaymaker was confirmed to have suffered holiday illness at the resort in February, thought to have been caused by Shigella infection.
Farnworth Rose were made aware of cases of gastric illness at the Sunrise Royal Makadi Bay Hotel in September, 2010, when suspected food poisoning was reported. Repeat outbreaks of illness in 2011 have caused distress for many holidaymakers who are now claiming compensation from the tour operators.
Serious staffing issues at the Sunrise Makadi Bay Hotel were thought to be linked to the outbreaks of illness and holidaymakers complained of ´insufficient staff members´ to cope with the large numbers of holidaymakers at the hotel. Service in the restaurants was said to be slow and food was served lukewarm or cold.
