Outbreaks of serious illness have been reported at the First Choice Holiday Village Resorts in Benalmadena, Costa del Sol, Spain and in C´an Picafort, Majorca.
Holidaymakers became ill with severe diarrhoea, abdominal cramps and sickness during their holidays at the two resorts, which both offer all-inclusive package deals.
The vast majority of guests eat within the Holiday Village complexes, and it is highly likely that the infection lay within the hotel. Children were also taken ill after swimming in the pools, which were reported to be dirty.
