More reports of illness from holidaymakers returning from Flamingo Oasis Benidorm

Holidaymakers returning from the Flamingo Oasis Hotel in Benidorm have recently contacted us to complain of holiday illness thought to be linked to poor standards of food and hygiene at the hotel.
Poor reviews on TripAdvisor also mention that poor food and hygiene were responsible for causing sickness and diarrhoea amongst guests. We also received reports of sickness, diarrhoea and gastroenteritis at the Flamingo Oasis Hotel in 2009 and 2010 and reports of ongoing illness are a major concern. One family of four all became violently ill after eating at the all inclusive hotel last year, and complaints were also made about the unhygienic condition of the swimming pool.
One guest who stayed at the hotel recently in April 2012 posted the following review on TripAdvisor: “The food was terrible. The food was at best tepid and at worst cold. On the second day of our holiday my wife and I suffered from severe diarrhoea and continued to be ill for the entire fortnight. We both also suffered from projectile vomiting, which we believe was caused by poor food hygiene in the kitchen and restaurant. One guest found a maggot in her porridge. Some guests were hospitalised.”
