Suspected Salmonella food poisoning has caused illness among guests at the Club Playa Blanca in Lanzarote during June, 2011.
Many holidaymakers became ill with symptoms of severe diarrhoea, vomiting and abdominal cramps, and many were prescribed antibiotics for their symptoms by a local doctor.
Thomas Cook promote the Club Playa Blanca, and claimed the illness outbreak was due to a bug going round the hotel, and that it was nothing to do with Salmonella food poisoning.
