Holiday nightmare after food poisoning in Turkey
A family were struck down with holiday illness after a nightmare stay at the Holiday Village in Sarigerme, Turkey, during June, 2010.
Four of the family fell ill within just a few days, and by the second week of their break at the Holiday Village, Turkey, illness had affected another four members of the family. Many other hotel guests had a similar illness, and symptoms included: diarrhoea, vomiting and abdominal pain. Salmonella food poisoning was suspected after food was left uncovered, and fresh food was added to the leftover buffet dishes.
The family reported that in the second week of the holiday, another four members of the party were struck down with illness, and all suffered diarrhoea and stomach pains. Cases of Salmonella have been found at the Holiday Village, Turkey, as far back as 2005, and First Choice are said to be ´closely monitoring´ the situation.
